Ankara plans to open consulate in karbala

Turkey determine to open a consulate in Karbala after theincreasing number of pilgrims  coming tothe city during the ceremonies taking place in Karbala over the past year , ThePresident of Karbala Provincial Council said on Wednesday.

 KarbalaMohammed al-Moussawi, told AKnews thatopening the consulate is necessary to attract the Turkish pilgrims; as well asmutual cooperation and trade relations between the parties, especially since Karbalastarted opening global investment companies.

Karbala 108 km southwest of Baghdad isconsidered from the tourist cities and holy sites in Iraq that host annually millionsof Shiaa Muslims pilgrims coming from inside and outside Iraq to visit theshrines.
